There comes a time once a year, when the weather starts to get a little nippy, I grab the old kitchen scissors and cut myself a big blunt fringe. Whilst quickly becoming an annual tradition, I managed to learn my lesson from last years try when I accidentally cut half my hair into one big head of fringe! This year, however, I think I may have done a pretty neat job!
A fringe is definitely the cheapest and easiest way to update your hair style without loosing the extra length. These days I tend to cut my own hair as I always find it frustrating when you go to the hairdressers, ask for an inch and end up coming home with shorter hair than you originally asked for! It's truly one of my pet hates!
Anyhow, today I'm wearing my new navy pinafore I snapped up for £25 in the Dahlia mid-season sales. I constantly rave about the Dahlia sales and I had this dress on the top of my wish list ever since it came out. The dress is so versatile and goes with absolutely anything. It can be dressed down with a roll neck jumper or more smartly teamed with a sweet collared blouse which is perfect for work.
Talking about work, I completed my first week at my new placement working in fashion PR. I really enjoyed the fast paced working atmosphere and found it to be a really stimulating challenge. I'm looking forward to my second week interning which happens to be the companies press day! As well as organising press days, I'll also be attending a couple of PR events including the NEXT lock in party and a luxury gifts event in Kensington on the weekend. Possibly heading into a a very stressful but exciting week! Is anyone attending the NEXT lock in party on Wednesday? Let me know!

Another noticeable update to my look is my brand spanking new Gok Wan designer glasses. I've been wanted a new pair of frames for ages but it's something I've ended putting off for a while, simply because of the costs involved. A few weeks ago however, I was offered some new frames and prescription lenses from the high street optical chain Specsavers. I popped in-store a week later where a stylist helped me choose the perfect frames to suit my face. There were loads of great brands to choose from including; Gok wan, Karen Millan, United Colours of Benetton and Red or Dead. I went for the retro Gok wan styles as I thought they fitted in my own personal style and the cat shaped tortoise frames were my absolute favourites! They're perfect for the shape of my face and oxblood shade is very on-trend for this season. The frames have a classic vintage feel to them which has really drawn me to the entire collection; I've got my eyes on a pair of gold rimmed wayfarers. Check back later in the week for my Specsavers Fashion Edit where I'll be matching frames with the perfect A/W outfit.
