Sandal Weather

I think its safe to say that Summer is definitely on it way! Over the last couple of days its been lovely and Im just hoping that it lasts because I could really get used to this sandal weather!
I've hung my coats up, dusted down my Summer shoes and even started to pull out my t-shirts and maxi skirts; not forgetting a bit of sneaky shopping here and there to freshen my wardrobe up! Today I'm wearing my brand new Whitsunday sandals from Emu Australia, I've been lusting over these for a while and they're even nicer in real life! I was a bit worried that they might rub with all the straps but they're surprisingly incredibly comfortable and very versatile!

I've gone with quite a casual outfit today, teaming a pair of black jeans and an over-sized printed blouse from Topshop. The blouse was actually one of my swap shop purchases from a swap party I attended a few weeks ago and I'm constantly wearing it, its becoming one of my favourite tops and its actually two sizes too big!

On Friday I'm heading to Paris for the Easter weekend with my boyfriend Matt. I seriously can't wait to get away from London and just spend the weekend eating great food, drink and doing absolutely nothing! I'll make sure do a couple of outfit posts as I bought a couple of new dresses just for Paris, so it'll be nice to finally show them off!

Whats everyone else up to this Easter? What do you think of my new sandals?

Tortoiseshell

Recently glasses have started to become a part of the outfit picking process; I now own 8 pairs of frames which are all different in style, shape  and size! I try not make it a massive chore when choosing which frames to wear because obviously life is way to short but I do know when a pair of frames feel right with an outfit and when others don't!

The glasses I'm wearing are from Retro 54 and they're really light weight which is great when I want to wear them all day because sometimes I can get quite irritated when things are on my face but these ones are really comfortable. I chose tortoiseshell because its the only colour of glasses I don't own ; they're quite classic and safe option for everyone.  I ordered the glasses online which I've never done before but there was a really easy way for measuring your own pupil distance and its made me confident to keep buying frames online as the only other thing you need to remember is your prescription.

In today's outfit I'm wearing a cord pinafore from Mod Dolly, the dress isn't available until September this year but I always like to be sneaky and wear all the samples before they come out! I've teamed the simple dress with my Primark dog print blouse that I've had for about 3 years now; its missing a couple of buttons so Its probably the last time I'll wear it. Finally I'm wearing my fringed loafers from Tods and carrying my old Prada shopper in burnt orange. As you can see, the outfit looks very wintery but the weather in London doesn't know what its doing at the moment and it was really cold and cloudy today!

What do you think of the glasses? What style do you prefer?

#VERYVIP Party and New Spring Drop!

Today's outfit is one I picked up at the Very.co.uk event last week. Its been a while since I've worn any other colour than black or white so its a nice change to be wearing something bright for once! The top is a hot print geometric printed knitted crop and I've teamed it with a bright floral 50 style skirt. I only own a few bits from Very but these pieces in particular have opened my mind to buying more key pieces from the brands website. The fit of the clothes are really flattering and I can't believe I fitted in a size 8 high waisted full skirt, normally I'm a 10 so it was a nice surprise when I tried it on!
I've finished the outfit off with my favourite bright yellow Folli Follie shopper bag to add a bit of contrast between all of the pink and finally added some simple black ballet flats from Topshop. I wouldn't normally be getting my ghost white legs out without a bit of fake tan first but it was so hot today and I thought that black tights might possibly ruin the outfit and looking at the pictures now, I'm glad I went without!

Once again I went to the #VERYVIP party with my good friend Toni from Fashion Your Seat Belts, we're both massive fans of free food and alcohol so its always great to catch over cocktails! The event was to celebrate and promote the new Spring drop at Very.co.uk, as always the selection of fashion on show was amazing. You never really know how great the selections are until you see them in real life and honestly the new Spring styles at Very are definitely pieces to lust over! We were aloud to pick a complimentary outfit (see outfit post above!) and then we were told to style the outfit for a live look book shoot and pinterest board! I'm all for social media fun so we took advantage of the fun activities and also the photo booth of course! To end the night we were given the most amazing gift bags featuring some brand new Babyliss hair curlers, some Nails inc gel polish and a 100ml Paul Smith perfume!! Thanks to Very for throwing yet another amazing event! Can't wait for the next one!

What do you think of the outfit? Do you shop at very.co.uk?

Voucher Code Swap Shop Party

A couple of weeks ago I attended the Voucher Codes swap shop with my friend Jessica Withey. I absolutely loved last years swap party and ended up leaving with double the items that I came with! This year I decided to arrive with a strategy and went in with the pure aim of finding all the Dorothy Perkins samples. You see.. last year as I heard someone mention that Dorothy Perkins donated tons of samples to the rails and were doing the same this year; I managed to find plenty and happily went home with 2 dresses, a striped jumper and even a printed Topshop blouse.

As well as shopping I got to spend time with Paige, RebeccaAdora and Sara again; its always lovely to see these girls, even only for a couple of hours, I'm always so busy and never get to spend time with friends at all so events like this always bring us together!

What I really like about the voucher codes's parties are the delicious canap├ęs, cocktails, pick 'n' mix tables and cupcake stands they always have; I have to say, food will forever be my no.1 love!  I also remember the bar man from last years event being overly generous with the alcohol measures, when I saw that he was back this year, he definitely didn't disappoint with the mojitos!

I'll be showing off my swap shop pieces in a voucher codes haul video next week on my youtube channel so stay tuned!

New EMU Spring / Summer 2014!

Emu Australia has been a firm favourite of mine for a couple of years now, I own a few pairs of Emu waterproof sheepskin boots and a couple pairs of their leather sandals which I absolutely adore. However his season it's their clothing collection that's got me browsing their website on a weekly basis! Their recent Spring drop is heading towards the top of my wish list; I'm already planning to buy the Marlo jumpsuit in hot pink and the black corowa maxi dress, both perfect for my Summer holiday this year!

What do you think? Whats you're favourite piece? Next week I'll be doing an outfit post featuring the Whitsunday sandal teamed with one of my new Spring dresses! Finally Spring is here, now hurry up Summer please!

Dreaming of the Ocean...

With the British sun making a long and overdue appearance, it's been great to walk around London town without a coat and this case without sleeves too! I did carry a little parka jacket around with me today but decided to leave it out of the post so I could show you just how lovely my new dress was!

The dress is from Joe Browns which is a well known British brand that I actually started wearing when I was 13 years old! My mum used to buy a lot of our clothes from the catalogue and Joe Browns was always a favourite of mine. It feels good to be wearing the brand again and this time in the adults section! The style I'm wearing today is the Mediterranean Ocean dress, the bodice is finished with a floral lace overlay and the skirt features the prettiest embroidery and scalloped edge. I have to say it possibly one of my favourite dresses, not only because the detail is so perfect but the fit is true to size and really flattering around the waist. Its definitely going to be one of my  wardrobe staples this Summer!

Today I took a little walk along the South bank hoping to have a browse through the Classic vintage car boot sale but it was absolutely packed! I should have thought about the fact that as soon as the slightest bit of sun appears in the UK, everyone suddenly heads outside, especially in the capital! When the weather is this nice, normal everyday commuting isn't worth the effort of climbing through crowds and cameras and its usually a better idea to stay local or have a BBQ! It's this time of year thats gets me thinking about Summer  holidays and I'm determined to book one ASAP: somewhere nice and quiet and hot would be divine! I've been looking through holiday brochures and finding online deals but would love any suggestions on where to go! If you have any recommendations please get in contact or comment below!

What's everyone been up to this weekend?
